BREAKING NEWS: NSA Collects Phone Records Of Millions Of American Verizon Customers Daily

NSA Collecting Phone Records Of Millions Of Verizon Customers Daily -- The Guardian

Exclusive: Top secret court order requiring Verizon to hand over all call data shows scale of domestic surveillance under Obama.

The National Security Agency is currently collecting the telephone records of millions of US customers of Verizon, one of America's largest telecoms providers, under a top secret court order issued in April.

The order, a copy of which has been obtained by the Guardian, requires Verizon on an "ongoing, daily basis" to give the NSA information on all telephone calls in its systems, both within the US and between the US and other countries.

The document shows for the first time that under the Obama administration the communication records of millions of US citizens are being collected indiscriminately and in bulk – regardless of whether they are suspected of any wrongdoing.

My Comment: I thought that the IRS, Benghazi, and AP scandals were terrible .... and they are ..... but this NSA scandal takes the cake. President Obama .... contrary to all of his speeches .... had to know that this was happening .... and to approve it. Bottom line .... this impacts tens of millions of Americans .... and what you should know is that all of your calls (and your GPS coordinates ) are being monitored and stored by the U.S. government.

Kudos to the British newspaper Guardian for exposing this story (makes you wonder where is the American press), and many kudos to the unknown patriot who exposed this U.S. government Verizon spy program.

I will be updating this breaking news story later in the day with a full roundup and commentary.
